Rêveuse Recipe: Summer Strawberry Pink Lemonade and Mint Lemonade

Happy Friday everyone! The bank holiday weekend has finally arrived and we couldn't be happier. We're expecting relatively nice weather on the weekend, but as always, the weather in the UK is unpredictable so we are keeping our fingers crossed. However, as we are in summer mode, we wanted to share with you a lemonade recipe we tried out from allrecipes. Who doesn't love a cheeky fresh lemonade when the sun is shining? It was a little sweeter than we had hoped for (unless you have a sweet tooth then this is the perfect recipe for you) so don't forget to adjust the sugar to your tastebuds. This recipe was enough to make two flavours; classic lemon and strawberry.

7 lemon
2 limes
10 strawberries
1.5l water
350g sugar or to taste
sprig of fresh mint

SERVES: 2 large jugs
DURATION: 30 minutes

On the hob, melt the sugar into half of the water quantity. Once dissolved, add the other half of the cool water and put into the fridge to cool.

Squeeze out the lemon and lime juice and crush and add the fresh mint to the lemon juice to infuse.

In a pestle and mortar, crush the strawberries until it forms a jam consistency. For decoration, cut another 1 or 2 strawberries into cubes and set aside.

Once the sugary water has cooled, add the mint lemon mixture. Pour half into a jug for the classic mint lemonade flavour. With the other half, add the strawberry jam to the bottom of the jug and pour the other half of the lemonade into the strawberry jam and sprinkle the strawberry cubes into the drink. Serve with a couple ice cubes and enjoy!
