Rêveuse Style: An Ode to Summer

Rêveuse Style: An Ode to Summer

Happy Tuesday! We're excited to share with you our second style post, a shoot we curated as a tribute to Summer. We revisited our wardrobe to collate summer pieces reminiscent of our past summer holiday in Italy. Textured, yet airy items were brought together to create these looks; we love the ease and simplicity, which can be worn indoors too during quarantine. Our garden is a place which we don't venture into much, however on this occasion it proved to be a great backdrop for our shoot. It made us realise that creativity can be found within familiar everyday environments. We enjoyed letting our creativity loose and searching on Pinterest for some shoot ideas. It got us to think about the ways we can make the most of our Summer. We've written down below some ideas of things you can do within the vicinity of your home.

01. Barbeque
Barbeques are the epitome of Summer. If you don't own a barbeque grill, you can buy disposable ones at the supermarket for very little and enjoy the classic charred taste of the barbeque treats.

02. Drinks Evening
After work drinks during the Summer is a ritual. Most of us are likely to be missing the social and drinking aspect of it all, so why not create a home bar with your family or friends via a zoom call. We personally love to create mocktails to end off the long working week indoors, using fresh mint from our garden. We have a refreshing homemade lemonade recipe here, which would be great for this occasion.

03. Online Exhibitions
Myself and Liz are both avid exhibition go-ers and sadly haven't been to any museums or galleries since the Olafur Eliasson exhibition last year! However, now galleries are releasing virtual exhibitions and walk throughs online, so we don't miss out on seeing what's new in the art world. Some examples of some things you can see online are Balenciaga: Google Arts & Culture, Picasso and Paper at the Royal Academy and Side by Side at Victoria Miro.

04. Garden Yoga/ Exercise
We've certainly been missing the gym and exercise classes like Kobox and Psycle to say the least, as well as being surrounded by other people for that extra motivation. At home, we've been religiously following Pamela Reif and MadFit on Youtube, who do a combination of fun and intense workouts, that target different areas of the body. If you have access to a garden or nearby park, feel at one with nature whilst you're doing exercise, for a more calming and wholesome experience.

05. Outdoor Cinema
You can create a wonderful ambience with fairy lights and hang them around your garden for a more immersive experience. A movie night wouldn't be right without popcorn! We are looking forward to sharing with you our popcorn recipe... but with a twist!

  1. I like the most of pics, especially the photo with u look through hand.
